Vakarufalhi, better known as Vakaru is a tropical island enhanced by swaying coconut palms and white sandy beaches. Surrounding the island is a pristine lagoon enriched by a stunningly beautiful living house reef. These features combined with traditional Maldivian building concepts, makes Vakarufalhi a haven of nature and tranquility. Almost a quarter of a square kilometer of land area with 50 sea front Beach Villas spread evenly around the island and 25 Water Villas creates an atmosphere which rejuvenates your body and mind.

Vakarufalhi has a state-of-the-art PADI certified 5-Star dive centre with professional European dive masters.  ProDivers feature guided diving boat trips and night snorkeling trips on the house reef, equipment and accessory sales, rental and repair and a complete PADI Instructional Program.  The centre is conveniently located at the building behind the reception.  There are about 35 dive sites accessible through the dive centre at Vakarufalhi. These sites include 15 thilas that are famous for their superb soft corals and the large array of fish. Most of the dive sites are located about 25 minutes from Vakarufalhi.

Vakarufalhi is home to a gorgeous house reef that is located only 15 meters from the beach. The house reef is known to be populated with a plethora of stunning sea life including schools of snappers, soldier fish and batfish. The house reef is also home to mystical caves and overhangs. To explore the beauty of this house reef, Vakarufalhi provides daily diving and night diving excursions.

From January through the end of March, dive sites frequented by Mantas are visited several times a week. In the months of September until December, there is a good chance of seeing whale sharks in the area.
